On NPR’s Morning Edition, Erika reminds us of the U.S.’s history of resettling refugees

Erika spoke with NPR’s Steve Inskeep on the history of Southeast Asian refugee resettlement. At a time when lawmakers are calling for a halt on the very small number of Syrian refugees that the U.S. is currently taking in, it’s important to remember that the U.S. successfully resettled 130,000 Vietnamese refugees from April to December of 1975 and established programs and services from scratch.
